Radu Dumitrascu

Strategic Communications & Planning at IKEA

Radu Dumitraşcu is a communications professional, environmental advocate and aspiring natural winegrower, with extensive experience in mobilizing support for climate action, sustainability, biodiversity and the environment.

His past experiences range from nature conservation work in the Democratic Republic of Congo, environmental campaigning, philanthropy to corporate communications.

Radu recently joined Inter IKEA Systems B.V., the IKEA franchisor as a strategist and planner. Previously, Radu worked for the IKEA Foundation and oversaw stakeholder engagement and external communications, bringing years of experience in marketing communications and public relations, with a focus on sustainability, environmental justice and international developmental issues.

His background, combined with his expertise in field work, campaign development, positioning and branding, media relations and environmental communications make him a versatile communications expert with diverse areas of expertise to draw from. Radu has also managed communications for the executive director’s office at Greenpeace International. He previously worked for the Frankfurt Zoological Society, based in Eastern Congo and Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, based in Washington DC.

Radu earned his Master’s degree in International Public Relations at George Mason University and his Bachelor’s degree in Advertising at the University of Bucharest.
